5 Yoga Asanas to Practice in Fall
December 9, 2015
Things to ask from your students
December 9, 2015

The uniting nature of yoga is projected in a yoga teacher training course. It offers a glimpse into one’s relationship with not only the world but with oneself too. Whether we take up 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course or 500 hour Yoga Teacher training course, each and every step is a revelation to a greater truth. These truths are defining lines or the facts we would live with, in our lives to come.  When we take up a Teacher Training course it not only transforms us outwardly but inwardly too.

Apart from the teaching we receive during the course, we also learn a lot of lessons after it. Here are a few lessons you would learn and cherish your whole life after you complete a Teacher Training programme.

This is not an end but a new beginning

We often consider that once we do a yoga teacher training course, we have learnt it all and it’s time to teach. Well, it is not an end to learning rather a beginning. A beginning, a journey that would never meet the end, because there is no end to it. The learning curve would always soar higher. Keep your mind open to new possibilities and new learning as there is always scope for improvement. If you have taken up 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, you have 300 hour and 500 hour to look forward too. Yoga retreats, workshops and training under other experienced yogis will always be challenging and more full filling.

Practice makes a yogi progress

When we finish an intense YTTC, we feel we know a great deal. But until and unless we do not practice what we have learnt, it will all get lost in the flow of time. The teaching part would require a greater work on oneself before we can actually set foot in a class as a teacher. As we are taught in the YTTC classroom, ‘Sawa adhayae’ meaning self lessons or self practice, we should keep practicing asanas, reading articles and books for improving our knowledge in the same.

It is a business

As much as we say that yoga is a spiritual science, the fact remains that in the post modern era, money mending ideology persists. We have many yoga schools and yogis existing in the market who know how to sell their services. One can only exists in a business with promotion and showbiz. So even if you want to maintain the essence of selfless service, you need to promote yourself. Do not be afraid to accept money and spend money on the marketing. As they say, out of mind, out of sight, we all need a constant reminder for the same.

The lessons taught by a Yoga Teacher Training courses cannot be jotted down in one article. One needs to learn and experience this world of transformation and new learning. Experience it yourself and live the beautiful moments of bigger revelations in life.
