Ways to Handle Negative People and Their Energy
December 9, 2015
Yoga poses for Asthma Relief
December 9, 2015

Yoga teacher training infuses many beliefs, theories, concepts in our thought terrain and asks us to abide by the rules taught in yoga philosophy. Nonviolence, truth, non-stealing there are many lessons to learn and put to work in our daily lives but the quintessential one still remains, love. And by love we don’t mean just ‘love thy neighbor’ attitude, but the month long training of yoga teacher training program teaches us to divulge in self love first. Because only when we can love ourselves purely, we can properly share love with others and sow love towards them.

Often in the spirit of competition, we start to compare ourselves with others and want to be like them or even better. In the battle of the best, we forget to truly love ourselves, our characteristics, they way we look or do things. Here are some tricks that we can remember and merge them with our teachings we receive from a yoga teacher training course and truly conquer self love.

Ditch the should game

The teachers teach us to accept ourselves the way we are and work with our limitations to excel in our abilities. The should game, on the other hand, is the most devastating one. I should be this, I should be that, this shouldn’t be like this, honestly, this is a vicious circle and it is only going to drag you further into the loop. Always remember, you are a unique person and what you are doing, only you can do it best. Your divine purpose will gradually unfold and lead to where it is all right. And how would you know where you are supposed to be? That is when everything will fall into place on its own and you won’t have to struggle.

Go the extra mile

While the ideology of doing the pose easily and swiftly, one of the primary teachings of yoga teacher training course, still we recommend to go the extra mile. Break through that comfort zone and by this do not only mean physically but mentally as well. So for instance, if you are in a pose, go that extra mile. When we mentally prepare ourselves for the extra effort, it reflects both on and off the mat. Do not give up so easily, your body is capable and worth lot more you think it is.

The divine treatment

Ever heard of the quote ‘Your body is a temple’? It indeed is. Designed intricately and precisely, our body excel at whatever it does. Even though in our busy life we fail to acknowledge its abilities, still this stupendous piece of machinery deserves an applause everyday. So treat your body right, with the right thoughts and attitude. Look for opportunities that allow you to find your present condition and work with that. Justa as in yoga teacher training, you do yoga for body and meditation for the mind, look for activities that allow you to be with your body, here and now. Do not compare that is the last thing you want to do.

Nurture the vessel that holds you, it is perfect for your present purpose. And when you start honoring it, you will realize that carrying out the philosophy propagated in yoga teacher is training much easier to apply in the off-the-mat activities as well.
